Three films screened at the 21st Seville Film Festival triumphed at the 97th Oscar Awards, held March 2 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

The Latvian animated film Flow, which received two nominations in Hollywood, won the Puerta América Award in Seville. This award was given to films from various sections of the festival that represented their respective countries in the Oscar nominations.

The Seville European Film Festival has strengthened its position as a platform for the discovery and recognition of films from the European continent.

In its fifth edition, this unique educational project, which brings together five of the most important film festivals in our country (Seville, Malaga, Huelva, Valladolid, and Sitges), reached 365,906 young spectators.

Eight of the 15 films announced yesterday on the shortlist for the prestigious award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Hollywood were shown in the city's cinemas as part of the programme for the 21st Seville European Film Festival.
