Dóminik Moll and screenwriter Gilles Marchand continue to refine their talent for crafting gripping, hard-hitting thrillers, following on from previous collaborations including With a Friend Like Harry and the acclaimed The night of the 12th. Their latest feature follows an internal affairs officer assigned with investigating a case of police brutality during the Yellow Vests protests in Paris. With a powerful performance by César award-winning actress Léa Drucker, this compelling film gradually reveals a story of ingrained violence and systematic hypocrisy, while exploring the complexities and personal cost of exposing the truth from within the system. A sharp, contemporary take on the political thriller in a style reminiscent of Sidney Lumet, Dossier 137 mixes real-life and recreated footage to convey the unease and confusion inherent in any search to reveal the truth.
