Xavier Artigas (Sabadell, 1980), sociologist and visual artist, began his film career in 2008 collaborating with filmmakers like Mercedes Álvarez and Ricardo Íscar. Xapo Ortega has developed his professional career around architecture and graphic design. In 2004 he created his own studio, setdos, where he develops graphic projects collaborating with prestigious architects and studios. He also participated, in the 90s, in the birth of the festival Primavera Sound and other musical projects. In 2011 Xavi Artigas and Xapo Ortega founded the audiovisual production company and cooperative METROMUNSTER (in which Salva Rodríguez, Roger Sabà and Marina Freixa also participate), from where he works on his own projects, which mix cinema and activism, as is the case with the multi-award winning Ciutat Morta. He has also directed campaigns for the CUP and the documentaries Termitas (about Bárcenas), Idrissa, crónica de una muerte cualquiera and Tarajal (a denunciation of the impunity on the southern border).
