The elephant in the room, that problem that everyone sees but no one dares mention, illustrates this film’s central conflict. After two months in rehab for a years-long addiction, a seemingly successful architect returns home, where she becomes the focus of her professional dancer daughter’s sleepless nights. Emma Suárez and Natalia de Molina (each with two Goyas) play these two women forced to support each other and who, together with veteran Darío Grandinetti and the new talent Alba Guilera, are part of the dysfunctional family in Aitor Echeverría’s debut. A mature and moving film about dependence at all levels, about commitment and responsibility towards our loved ones, about life under reconstruction – sometimes something has to break to put it back together.
