The Hollywood artist will visit Seville accompanied by the cast of this feature film about the life of the bohemian painter Amedeo Modigliani
In the vast panorama of contemporary cinematography, few names resonate with as much impact and versatility as that of Johnny Depp. Actor, producer and symbol of artistic transformation, the Hollywood artist has managed, throughout his career, to position himself as one of the most relevant and influential artists of recent decades. The 21st Seville European Film Festival, scheduled from November 8 to 16, will have his presence on its first weekend.
After passing through the San Sebastián and Rome festivals, the protagonist of iconic films such as 'Edward Scissorhands' (Tim Burton, 1990) and 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas' (Terry Gilliam, 1998) will visit Seville to present his second film as director, 'Modi - Three Days on the Wing of Madness', written by Jerzy Kromolowski and Mary Kromolowski. Riccardo Scamarcio plays the bohemian artist Amedeo Modigliani, known as ‘Modi’ to his friends. The film takes place during a seventy-two-hour whirlwind of chaotic events through the streets of war-torn Paris in 1916.
The Hollywood artist will be accompanied by the French female protagonist of the biopic, Antonia Desplat, who plays the English writer, poet and literary critic Beatrice Hastings. Most recently, it was announcement by Lionsgate Depp's fourth collaboration with Penélope Cruz. After sharing scenes in 'Blow' (Ted Demme, 2001), 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides' (Rob Marshall, 2011) and 'Murder on the Orient Express' (Kenneth Branagh, 2017), the artistic couple will star in the ' thriller 'Day drinker', directed by Marc Webb and set on a cruise ship.
