DREAMERS AND EXILES

THE SEFF AND THE EUROPEAN EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMME MOVING-CINEMA HAVE JOINED FORCES TO CREATE AN INITIATIVE ENTITLED DREAMERS AND EXILES, THE FIRST FILM SHOWCASE FOR THE YOUNG PROGRAMMERS OF THE SEVILLE FESTIVAL, TO BE HELD FROM THE 22ND TO THE 24TH OF APRIL AT MK2 CINESUR.

In collaboration with the Asociación A Bao A Qu, the Seville Festival has coordinated this project free of charge for the selected scholarship holders, with the support of the Seville City Council's Institute of Culture and the Arts, organiser of the festival. Bringing together once again former Young Moving-Cinema Programmers who are between 17 and 23 years old, its objective is to bring the participants closer to the film scene under the guidance of specialists in this field, giving them the unique opportunity to carry out their own film showcase. The initiative is also supported by mk2 Cinesur, where the screenings will take place in one of its theatres in Nervión Plaza.

During this mentored training, which began on the 23rd of March, participants are learning first-hand all the ins and outs of organising a festival. Over the course of a month, they will work on programming, organising, coordinating and communicating their first film festival: DREAMERS AND EXILES. The programme has opted for "first times", i.e. a selection of first films by European filmmakers who have previously screened at the Seville Festival. Thus, the first feature film by the Greek director Jacqueline Lentzou, Moon, 66 Questions; the film by the French director Matthieu Bareyre, L'Èpoque; and the first feature film by the Spanish director David Pantaleón, Rendir los machos, will be screened. Three films united by the evolution of the interpersonal conflicts of their protagonists, a subject currently on the agenda.

Rounding off the training, the young programmers will hold a meeting with five international auteur exhibitors as part of the SEFF's collaboration with Cicae's Art Cinema Training and Mentoring 2022, a program of coaching

focused on audience diversification, with the aim of attracting younger audiences to cinemas.

DREAMERS AND EXILES will be presented by the Young Programmers on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th of April at mk2 Cinesur, and tickets will go on sale soon.
