Director, producer, and cinematographer with an outstanding career in documentary filmmaking, Jose Luis López Linares has worked on more than a hundred national and international productions and has received numerous awards, including several Goya awards and accolades at international festivals.
In recent years, he has focused his work on exploring the history of Spain and its links with the Hispanic world, with notable films such as 'España, la primera globalización' (Spain, the First Globalization) (2021), a hit with audiences and critics alike, and 'Hispanoamérica, canto de vida y esperanza' (Hispanic America, Song of Life and Hope) (2024), in which he delves into the cultural heritage shared by Spain and America.
His new project, ‘We the Hispanos. The Hispanic Roots of the United States’, explores and highlights the identity, shared history, and contribution of the Hispanic community to the founding and development of the United States.
His films are characterized by a profound look at history, art, and culture from a humanistic perspective.
