UNA PERRA ANDALUZA
Pablo Tocino’s (No te fíes, soy médica) series portrays today’s youth as they challenge preconceptions and gender stereotypes. The Seville Festival offers a preview of the first two episodes of its second season (the highly bingeable first season is available on Filmin), continuing the intertwining stories of these Gen Zers, racked by loneliness and desire in a society that intensifies their struggles. Hardcore humour and a cliché-free social undercurrent are the tools of this “generational Frankenstein”, whose loser pride and anti-role models serve Xavier Dolan and Autodefensa. Uncertain paths, unnoticed absences and domestic asphyxia are dissected in this second instalment, which is explicit and authentic, remaining true to its creator’s motto: “Let others be subtle”.
