UNA PELÍCULA DE MIEDO
During the summer holidays, a documentary director and his 12-year-old son stay in an abandoned hotel in Lisbon, a desolate place reminiscent of Kubrick's classic horror film The Shining. The director’s young son is haunted by ghost stories and monsters, as during their stay in the Portuguese capital unsettling new presences begin to emerge: the ghost of Portugal’s first serial killer and the shadows of men ravaged by rage who abandoned their families. For the father, the experience on film becomes a mirror to his existential concerns: the father-son relationship, memories of the past, and responsibility toward the future. Known for blurring the boundary between documentary and fiction, director Sergio Oksman’s (O Futebol) latest project is a profound existential laboratory.
