Babis Makridis

From Greek cinema’s new and famous batch of directors, Babis Makridis is one of the most recognisable voices along with Lanthimos or Tsangari. He was born in Greece in 1970 and studied film at the Stavros Film School. After his first short film, the award winning The Last Fakir (2005), he premiered his feature debut L (2012) at Sundance and at Rotterdam, where he also premiered the eagerly awaited Pity in 2018. He also has a long career directing commercials for television.
