LOS RESTOS DEL PASAR
In our minds, villages are places we can return to, as we are still children there. Antonio recalls his childhood in a small village in Córdoba, his mind returning to the rituals of Holy Week, to the hands of the women busying each day with their tasks and to the traditions and craftsmanship that shape the uniquely strong identity of Andalusia. But Antonio especially remembers Paco, an older painter who, instead of focusing on painting, teaches him to view life as a fleeting passage and seeks to ease the boy’s concerns about religion or death. This non-fiction film by Luis (Soto) Muñoz and Alfredo Picazo arrives at the Seville Festival after winning two awards at Gijón (including the International Critics’ Award) and Best National Film at the Atlàntida Mallorca Film Fest.
