Rupert Everett
Norfolk, 1959. He made his debut on the boards in 1981 in the play Another Country, and also appeared in its film version in 1984, for which he received a BAFTA nomination. Since then he has appeared in numerous British, French and American films, becoming an emblematic face for films such as Prêt-à-Porter, The Madness of King George, Shakespeare in Love, An Ideal Husband, Inspector Gadget, The Next Best Thing, The Importance of Being Ernest, Stage Beauty and Stardust, and also films such as Crónica de una muerte anunciada, The Golden Pince-Nez and Dellamorte Dellamore. He is the voice of Prince Charming in Shrek. In 1997 he was nominated for the Golden Globes and the BAFTAs for My Best Friend’s Wedding. He also has a long theatrical career on stages in Broadway and in London’s West End, and in television productions. He has written several books and also articles for The Observer, The Times, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and Vanity Fair. As a director, he has made the documentaries The Victorian Sex Explorer, Love for Sale and Fifty Shades of Gay. His debut in fiction, The Happy Prince, was presented at the Berlinale.
