Carmel Winters
She was born in Cork, Ireland, and studied Theatre and English at Trinity College in Dublin. After directing the short film Limbo (2008), she made her debut in 2010 in feature films with Snap, which had its premiere at Tribeca and won the Variety Critics Choice Award at Karlovy-Vary. Her play B for Baby won the Irish Times Theatre Award for Best First Work, and she won recognition for her subsequent theatrical writings. Her latest film, Float Like a Butterfly, has just won the Fipresci Award in Toronto.
