The German word Heimweh, translating as the longing one feels when far from home, served as the inspiration for the filmmaker to make this short. After experiencing this sentiment himself while in Germany, the film’s lead character Ava was born, an Iranian sound designer living far from her family. While recording sounds of nature, she hears a strange noise coming from the forest.
