A MULTIFACETED TRUTH

Here is another film that looks for unusual places to approach the art of filmmaking: Los inocentes, world premiere in the Endless Revolution section, Guillermo Benet (Madrid, 1984), accredited scriptwriter, short filmmaker and co-founder of the production company Vermut, makes his debut with this work in which a group of friends live a fateful night. "I wanted the narrative not to impose itself on their memories and subjective points of view about what everybody thinks happened", The director commented on this multifaceted and contradictory story with a structure "a bit like Rashomon, where there is no global reality but rather each character puts on a filter of their own emotions". Pablo Gómez-Pando (Adiós, Violeta no coge el ascensor) is among them, highlighting the exchange between perspectives and improvisation in the performances. A film-collage that tackles themes such as guilt and individualism from aesthetic parameters, where the pact of silence between the protagonists leads them into isolation, in a series of frames conceived as portraits of loneliness.
