We are glad to inform you that the 21st edition of the Sevilla International Film Festival (SEFF) is right around the corner so we have officially published the bases for anyone interested in enrolling their featured or short film in the upcoming SEFF, that will take place from 8th to 16th of November.
This is an exciting edition that brings refreshing news, incorporating four new sections as well as new scenarios where the festival will take place, with the aim to maintain and strengthen our commitment to the best European cinema.
The Festival returns with the will of becoming a renewed meeting point between the audience and the film industry, open to all and with huge impact on the international film industry. A great cultural event that invests in making accesible and narratively solid cinema.
The festival’s main focus will consist of six competitive sections with two new updates: “Rampa”, made for emerging directors with their first or Second film, and “Alumbramiento”, made for films without distribution in Spain. The remaining sections will be part of the “Oficial Section”, european produced films that stand out for their cinematographic quality and for being narratively and esthetic open minded: “Nuevas Olas“, a different look at contemporary european cinema, “Panorama Andaluz” , productions directed by andalusian directors and/or with the help of andalusian companies and “EFA”, made in collaboration with the European Film Academy where featured and short films nominated in this years European Film Awards edition will compete. In addition to that there will be a new section called Puerta América where any European production that represents their country in the Best Movie Award in the upcoming 2025 Academy Awards will be able to compete.
In the non-competitive section we will have the new section “Puerta Europa”, aiming for those whose European participation is smaller but still fundamental and “Esenciales Europa”, made for honoring European classics that excel in movie theaters. Some sections will remain untouched like “Cinefilos del Futuro”, european feature films for the juvenile, “Europa Junior”, european feature films for children and “Ventana Cinéfila”, online section of films for the youth.
