ADA SOLOMON, "WOMEN’S SUCCESS IN AUDIOVISUAL

THE RENOWNED PRODUCER PARTICIPATES IN A MEETING WITH SPANISH WOMEN OF THE FILM INDUSTRY WITH SEVILLE FESTIVAL AND THE ANDALUSIAN ASSOCIATION OF AUDIOVISUAL MEDIA, AAMMA

The production company Ada Salomon participated on Tuesday 12th in a meeting framed in the course of the Seville Festival about the role of women in the film industry. Entitled Women In Focus, the event, scheduled in collaboration with the Andalusian Audiovisual Media Association (AAMMA).

According to Salomon, although the number of women in the sector is increasing, serious differencesare remaining: "High-ranking positionsare still mostly occupied by men and in other jobs where physical strength is supposed to prevail (cameramen, electricians...) the number of women is negligible; equality only exists in design and locker rooms," she said dissatisfied.

"I don't believe in the idea of setting dimensions to equalise the number of men and women, this is a humiliation towards women," said the producer, asked for solutions to these scourges. 'I'm not very tall but I've learned to jump, I don't need anyone to givemea trampoline. I don't like positive discrimination," she added.

Ada is a founding member of the EWA (European Women's Audiovisual Network), an organisation that supports women in the audiovisual industry. According to Salomon, "this institution is more part of the Yes We Can than The Me Too" she said. "We can achieve success without regret, victimisation or whining. We are an organisation that, although we put our finger on things that do not go well, we try to focus on the positive facts".
