My favorite war

The winner of the Contrechamp Award at Annecy, the most prestigious animation festival in the world, follows the exciting path that animation and comics have paved (from the impulse of Persepolis) to revisiting history and sharing it in the first person. This film unmasks the Soviet indoctrination machine through the memories of the director herself, who grew up in the Latvia of the Cold War. Torn between the ease granted to the state and her family history marked by a dissident thought, the fundamental formative years of a girl in search of a horizon and a mind of her own.
