Ivan the Terrible ravaged entire villages, eradicating thousands of lives. Ivana the Terrible ravages her family with complaints and curtails anyone's patience. So she decides to go from Bucharest to the Serbian bank of the Danube, where her parents live, to take a break. A summer under short-circuit of unknown diseases, surreal festivals, lovers, visits and Romania-Serbia rivalries, in a film (produced by Ada Solomon, also known for producing Toni Erdmann) that reconstructs the existential crisis of the director, which is interpreted by herself and her relatives.

IVANA MLADENOVIĆ

Born in Serbia in 1984, studied at the National School of Film and Theater in Bucharest. She has directed the short films Milky Way, Pizza Love and Afterparty, as well as the documentary Turn Off The Lights which was awarded with the Prize for Best Documentary in Sarajevo. His first feature-length fiction film premiered in 2017 in Toronto and San Sebastian, where it was given a special mention. She has also starred in Radu Jude's Scarred Hearts. Ivana the Terrible, which she directs and stars in, premiered at the Locarno Festival, where she won the Special Jury Prize in the Cineasti del Presente section.
