Fatih Akin authored the most controversial film in the Berlinale, the depraved, violent and eschatological chronicle depicting the life of the 1970s serial killer Fritz Honka. In a grey and decadent Hamburg (the back room of the economic miracle from which today's Germany emerged) we find the Golden Glove, a bar where a gallery of freaks gather every night. Among them is our friend Fritz, an alcoholic bull and borderline man who treats women to drinks, despite them being older or not very graceful. Then, he takes them home, where he "unveils his charm" in the form of indescribable crimes.

FATIH AKIN
Fatih Akin’s international breakthrough came with Head-On winner of the Golden Bear, as well as the German and European Film Award. His 2007 feature The Edge of Heaven won the Best Screenplay prize at Cannes. The following year, he directed an episode for the compilation film New York, I Love You, followed by his comedy Soul Kitchen that won the Special Jury Prize in Venice and his documentary Polluting Paradise. His 2014 feature The Cut premiered at the Venice Film Festival. In 2017 Fatih Akin achieved his greatest success to date with In the Fade, starring Diane Kruger. Among other prizes the feature was honored with the Best Foreign Language Film Golden Globe, the Best Actress award at Cannes 2017 and the German Film Awards for Best Film and Best Screenplay. His new feature The Golden Glove premiered at the Berlinale.
