'Saturn Return' wins the Audience Grand Prix for Best Film in the EFA Selection

  • Isaki Lacuesta's musical film, co-directed by Pol Rodríguez and written by Lacuesta and Fernando Navarro, has won the Grand Audience Award for Best Film in the EFA Selection.

  • 'Saturn Return' ('Segundo premio' in Spanish) will represent Spain in the Best International Film category at the Oscar Awards.

If in La leyenda del tiempo he pursued the myth of Camarón, here Isaki Lacuesta (Goya for best adapted screenplay for Un año, una noche) tries to capture the air in which, in the late 90s, a fundamental and foundational album of Spanish indie music was conceived, a reference for a whole generation of "incomplete people".

With more fable than fidelity to facts that, like all memories, are malleable, he captures the yearning for expression and the identity crisis of a group on the verge of blowing up or working a miracle. As Lacuesta states, this is not an official film about The Planets because they were never officially anything.

rogrammed in the EFA Selection, which included 11 titles, the film has been recognized with the Grand Audience Award for Best Film of the EFA Selection. The 21st Seville European Film Festival was attended by Marta Velasco, CEO of Áralan Films and current president of the Andalusian Film Academy, and Eduardo Rejón, the film's actor. It so happens that some of the scenes of this film, starring Daniel Ibáñez, Cristalino, Stephaniè Magnin, and Mafo, were shot in Seville.
