Juan Pando, a journalist and film critic born in Barcelona in 1956, has dedicated over three decades to reporting on cinema. After studying Law and Journalism, he worked for media outlets such as Efe, Cadena Ser, and El Mundo, and contributed to magazines like Fotogramas, Elle, and Muy Interesante. In the late 1980s, he specialized in film, participating in television programs like La semana que viene (Tele 5) and Mundo Mundial (Vía Digital), as well as radio shows like Rompeolas (Cadena SER).
Pando has published books such as Hollywood al desnudo and Crónica negra de Hollywood, and has served as a member of the advisory board for the Huelva Ibero-American Film Festival. He has been a member of the Spanish Academy of Cinema since 2006 and was the general secretary of the Circle of Cinematographic Writers. Additionally, he has taught Film History and regularly participates in conferences and roundtable discussions on cinema.
