In November, the Seville European Film Festival will once again host Future Frames, the prestigious programme for emerging European talent organised by European Film Promotion (EFP) in collaboration with the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, with the support of Creative Europe – MEDIA Programme of the European Union and Allwyn.
“We are thrilled to return to Seville with Future Frames. This collaboration not only excites us but also gives the filmmakers a wonderful opportunity to present their work to Spanish audiences and to connect with the local industry,” says Sonja Heinen, Managing Director of EFP.
As part of this initiative, four young filmmakers, selected among the ten presented last July at Karlovy Vary, will showcase their short films in a special screening in Seville: Ruairi Bradley (We Beg To Differ, Ireland), Veera Lamminpää (Fish River Anthology, Finland), Mila Ryngaert (Karaokiss, Belgium) and Nausica Serra (Dissection of an Incoherence in Crisis, Spain).
In addition to presenting their films, the four directors will also take part in FRAME Sevilla, the festival’s renewed industry programme, engaging in roundtables, professional meetings and investor sessions, fostering creative exchange and future opportunities.
“For the Seville Festival it is an honour to host Future Frames, because it naturally connects with our mission to discover and accompany the new talents of European cinema. This collaboration allows us to build a bridge between young filmmakers who are beginning to make their mark and audiences eager for fresh, daring and committed voices. Incorporating Future Frames into our programme ultimately reaffirms our role as a meeting point and showcase for those who will write the future of cinema in Europe,” said Festival Director Manuel Cristóbal.
