LA FAMOSA INVASIÓN DE LOS OSOS EN SICILIA
Dubbed in Spanish
The personal and visual universe of Lorenzo Mattotti, the illustrator and author of the graphic novel (also collaborator with leading figures like Lou Reed, Soderbergh and Antonini), is joined here with the one of Dino Buzzati. Mattotti adapts Buzzati’s fabulous book to this gem of contemporary animation. Actually, the story of how bears invade Sicily to recover the King Bear’s lost son is a parable about colonization, cultural appropriation and the despotic use of power. The power of this story took Mattotti to the section Un Certain Regard at Cannes. The endless plastic enjoyment and its important meaning are united together in this work that, like the ones of Sendak, Rodari or Saint-Exupéry, start from childness to reach universality.
