The operistic excess and extreme theatricality passed through the sieve of the counterculture guide Werner Schroeter's cinema, where fantasy and reality are confused in search of myths and great human obsessions. A series of stylized and baroque living pictures drive this homage to the opera divas, from Maria Callas to the protagonist, in a film headed by their muse, the powerful Magdalena Montezuma, Ingrid Caven and Warhol's superstar and queer icon Candy Darling.
