TALENTS OF THE FIFTH DAY

Seville, November 9 - The Seville European Film Festival kicked off its fifth day with a photo call with the emblematic Guadalquivir River in the background, featuring the representatives of the European Film Academy: Matthijs Wouter Knol, director of the European Film Academy; Mike Downey, chairman of the European Film Academy; and Antonio Saura and Angela Bosch, boards of the European Film Academy in Spain. This morning, the Abades Triana Restaurant hosted, as is usual, the nominations reading for the 34th edition of the European Film Awards. The European Film Academy awards ceremony will be held in Berlin on December 11th.

On the other hand, the Paseo Marqués de Contadero was honored with the presence of the Georgian Aleksandre Koberidze, director of the film What do we see when we look at the sky? and the leading actress, Ani Karseladze.

Similarly, the Andalusian Panorama section has made its debut at the photo call with the participation of Remedios Malvárez, from Huelva based in Seville, and Arturo Andújar, from Seville, co-directors of the film Pico reja. La verdad que la tierra esconde, a documentary about the mass grave of Pico Reja, which is estimated to contain more than 2,000 civilian victims of Franco's repression.

Lastly, the Portuguese Miguel Gomes, the great master of Portuguese cinema, and Maureen Fazendeiro, accompanied by the leading actor, Carloto Cotta, took part in the last part of the photocall for the premiere, within the framework of the Seville Festival, of the film The Tsugua Diaries, a production in competition within the Official Section which focuses on a group of people gathered in a house during the lockdown caused by the pandemic.
