THE SOUL OF MANY WOMEN

The dancer Carmen Mesa (Córdoba, 1975) stars in the film Pa'trás, ni pa'tomar impulso, which can be seen now for the first time in the New Waves section of the Seville European Film Festival. A story, inspired by Carmen herself, based on a dream of spreading her flamenco art from Andalusia to the Andes, passing through Buenos Aires. An honest project that was "the result of many years of research," according to Mesa, and in which Marta Esteban - a regular producer for Cesc Gay - and the Argentinean director Lupe Pérez (who presented her previous piece Antígona despierta at the SEFF) crossed paths. "They were like my fairy godmothers and they have made possible this priceless gift (the film), a sign that dreams come true", said the dancer, during the presentation. A vibrant and humble film, that reflects the intensity of the creative process, the strength it demands and "the soul of many other brave, powerful women".
