In order to offer a platform of visibility to film schools and show the latent creativity and the brilliant educational activity in these centers, the #15FestivalSevilla has opened a new section, A Young Continent, to screen films from European schools and universities.
In addition, and taking advantage of the meeting of Europa International, the festival will organise meetings for the young filmmakers with distributors and sales agents, to establish contacts and look for support with regard to upcoming projects. The Young Continent section will propose a dialogue between two very influential schools: the Filmuniversität Babelsberg Konrad Wolf, the oldest and most important in Germany, and the above mentioned ECAM (Escuela de Cinematografía y del Audiovisual de la Comunidad de Madrid). From the German centre we will show 'The Island', directed by Lars Ostmann, while ECAM will present 'Los Pilares', by Raúl Vallejo, Claudia Negro, Lucía Touceda and Javier Moreno. Both will be presented as world premieres.
