THE NOMINATIONS FOR THE EFA AWARDS

The work by the Madrid actress Bárbara Lennie in 'Petra' has made her one of the six finalists for Best Actress in the EFA awards which will be presented in Seville on 15th December. Titles already released in our country such as 'Cold War', by Pawel Pawlikowski; 'Dogman', by Matteo Garrone; 'Lazzaro feliz', by Alice Rohrwacher, or 'Girl', by Lukas Dhont, are favorites along with the Swedish-Danish production 'Border', by Ali Abbasi. Another nomination for Spanish cinema is 'El silencio de otros', which has U.S. coproduction. Directed by Almudena Carracedo and Robert Bahar, with the Almodóvar brothers as producers, the film tells of the struggle and the search for justice by survivors of the Francoist repression. A film which, by the way, can be seen in the festival in the Special Screening section.

The candidates which were announced at a ceremony during the #15FestivalSevilla, which was attended by Alfonso Rodríguez Gómez de Celis, government delegate in Andalusia,; Antonio Muñoz, delegate for Urban Habitat, Culture and Tourism, in Seville City Council; Beatriz Navas, director of the ICAA; Mariano Barroso, president of the Spanish Film Academy, and Antonio Saura and Mike Downey, representing the European Film Academy.
