The Story of Looking, by Mark Cousins

Seville, 27 September 2021.- Mark Cousins, master of film essays, returns to Seville to present his two latest works. In a special session featuring The Story of Film: a New Generation, the Northern Irish director updates his classic The Story of Film, incorporating the cinema of the last decade. His exhaustive inventory includes everything from Tsai Ming-liang, Aleksei German and Apichatpong Weerasethakul to Joker, Frozen, It Follows, Black Mirror and Bollywood cinema. The second title he will present at the Seville European Film Festival as part of the New Waves Non-Fiction section will be The Story of Looking, an adaptation of his own book on how we observe the world around us. Finally, his documentaries review the change in the way we watch cinema in the digital era and dismantle the obsolete prophecy of the death of cinema.
