EUROPEAN FILM AWARDS NOMINATIONS

The President of the European Film Academy, Mike Downey (United Kingdom, 1959), presented this morning the reading of the nominations for the European Film Awards, which once again hosted the Seville European Film Festival, this time virtually and behind closed doors; as the context of the pandemic requires. These awards have reached their 33rd edition and since 2005 the films and artists nominated have been announced within the framework of the SEFF, thus consolidating their idyllic relationship with the EFA. Downey has expressed his "solidarity towards the Seville Festival for its organization in these difficult times" and has made a special announcement: the increase of nominations from five to six in all categories, a gesture that will serve "to recognize the complicated moment that the European film industry is going through". The Seville European Film Festival, which runs until Saturday, is screening several of the titles nominated by the European Film Academy, bringing together some of the continent's greatest filmmaking talent in its program.
