EL QUE LA LLEVA LA ENTIENDE
O.V. in Spanish
In Cadiz, where ingenuity is a way of life and Carnival its maximum expression, the figure of José Luis García Cossío "El Selu" shines, a pioneer of the modern 'chirigota' who has been exercising sharp and creative humour on the stages of the Gran Teatro Falla for thirty years. In this film, we look at his work through his conversations with some unconditional admirers of his particular art, converts to "chirigotism" such as Jorge Drexler, Martirio, Luis García Montero and Joaquín Sabina, discussing subjects such as humour, satire and its limits, women, the creation of the character, the social transversality of Carnival and the value of the everyday.
