The illustrious filmmaker from Granada, José Val del Omar, inventor, poet and a genius ahead of his time, is an unheard-of artist who has yet to achieve the worldwide fame he deserves for his otherworldly work. An inspirational cult figure aligned, from the isolation of his homeland, with the most important world avant-garde movements, in this documentary we will travel through his life and work, as well as the long trail of his influence through unique visual documents and fascinating testimonies, such as those of those responsible for preserving his legacy, Piluca Baquero and Gonzalo Sáenz de Buruaga, and valdelomarian experts and artists such as Soleá Morente, Niño de Elche, Juan Sebastián Bollaín, María Cañas, Nonio Parejo, Pedro G. Romero, Antonio Arias (Lagartija Nick), among others.

Sevillian director, screenwriter, and editor (1971) whose film debut, 15 Days with You, was nominated for a Goya Award. Since then, he has written and directed feature films such as Déjate Caer, Todo saldrá bien and El precio del éxito, as well as series and the TV films Diamantino and Una vida entre dos aguas. La primera cita premiered at the Seville European Film Festival and the Huelva Ibero-American Film Festival, where it was awarded by the AAMMA (the Andalusian Association of Women in Audiovisual Media) for Best Film with a Gender Perspective. Combining the worlds of film, music, and culture, he has worked on several feature documentaries (La última toma, Pardo por la música, Storm), and now presents his latest project, Val del Omar, poeta audiovisual.
