In addition to being an icon of world cinema as an actress, Jeanne Moreau also directed three films, previously hard to find, but since 2022 made available thanks to the restorations of the Fonds Jeanne Moreau and Carlotta Films. The first of these, starring herself, is Lumière. A self-referential exercise in which four actresses, at different points in their lives and careers, share confessions about love, work, fame and cinema during a vacation in Provence. A penetrating insight into what it means to be a woman, particularly in the world of cinema, with performances by Lucia Bosè, Keith Carradine and Bruno Ganz, among others, and music by Astor Piazzola.
