The year 2021 marked the return of Antonio Canales to the spotlight and the stages, reborn like a phoenix after his descent into hell. Canales has been a leading figure of flamenco dancing for 30 years, recognized at the top of his profession and acquiring worldwide fame. This film reviews his unparalleled art through avant-garde and overwhelming stagings (in which there is also room for his queer side), archive images, interviews with personalities such as Cayetana Martínez de Irujo, Jorge Javier Vázquez, Soleá Morente and Antonio Dechent, as well as his own testimony.

Born in Algeciras in 1986, Raúl Rosillo is a publicist, art director and filmmaker trained between Seville, Buenos Aires and the Central Saint Martins in London. Rosillo has always worked as an independent producer with an extensive career in filmmaking, in charge of art direction, photography, costumes and locations. The producer’s recognition comes with his fashion films Quimera, 2013 and Perfidia, 2014, as well as the execution of several advertising campaigns and music videos like Califato ¾, Bebe as director. This year, the SEFF holds the world premiere of his first feature film Antonio Canales, Bailaor.
