THE NEW WAVES

SELF-CRITICISM OF A BOURGEOIS DOG

JULIAN RADLMAIER

Julian Radlmaier | Germany | 2017 | 90 min. | O.V. German and English with English and Spanish subtitles

How does a filmmaker become a dog? From his four-legged condition, Julian (Radlmaier) tells us how, when he didn’t get the money to make his film, he passed himself off as a communist filmmaker and went to work in the apple harvest with the real aim of scoring with Camille, an unruly young Canadian. Blunt proletarian companions, a heartless foreman, a monk with supernatural powers and the increasingly detached Camille will drive him along the path of ridicule and derision to his tragic destiny.
