Kikol Grau | Spain | 2017 | 60 min. | O.V. Spanish with English subtitles
With a punk spirit and his well-known strategy of “search footage”, Kikol Grau challenges the prevailing discourse on the Transition: a supposedly model period, but a closer look reveals quite a lot of duplicity. An intelligent hotchpotch in which there is room for works by dissident filmmakers such as Jordá or Soler along with “quinqui” cinema, news reels, “destape” films, La bola de cristal or Los santos inocentes. A visual avalanche, an exquisite corpse that studies “that beloved Spain, mine and ours”, from 1975 to 1982.
