KORNÉL MUNDRUCZÓ

Kornél Mundruczó | Hungary, Germany | 2017 | 100 min. O.V. English and Hungarian with Spanish subtitles

Refugees now have a superhero (Philipp Engel dixit in Fotogramas). In an unusual treatment of a pressing subject, Mundruczó (after his striking White God) comes back with a fast paced film, shot and edited with exuberance. Aryan is a man who crosses Europe from Syria and, when trying to get to Budapest, is shot. But instead of killing him, the bullets cause him to acquire incredible powers. When an unscrupulous doctor discovers this and decides to exploit him to make money, a merciless pursuit begins.
