Nadav Lapid

Nadav Lapid | Israel, France | 2014 | 120 min. | V.O Hebrew subtitled in Spanish and English

Setting out quite naturally several thorny subjects which reveal the contradictory values of this society, The Kindergarten Teacher tells the story of Nira, a kindergarten teacher who develops a kind of obsession for one of her pupils. Not for the reasons one immediately thinks, but because Yoav, at only five years of age, is a poetry genius. A talent that will be irretrievably lost in the vulgar prose of the world around him: his father, a business man, his absent mother and his exploitative nanny. Nevertheless, to preserve and encourage this talent, Nira will have to undertake questionable actions that will lead her to point of no return.
