Pedro Costa

Pedro Costa | Portugal | 2014 | 104 min. | V.O Portuguese subtitled in Spanish and English

Pedro Costa has spent twenty years filming in Fontainhas, an area of Lisbon populated by immigrants from Cabo Verde. After what is known as “the Fontainhas trilogy”, made up of Ossos, No Quarta da Vanda and Colossal Youth, Costa now continues with Ventura, who starred in the latter. Sinking into a halo of mystery, Cavalo Dinheiro acts as a bridge between 1974 and the present, while accompanying Ventura, whose mind has deteriorated after a life of hard work and poverty. And, while revolution rages in the streets, people look for Ventura, lost in the woods.
