Gonçalo Tocha | Portugal | 2013 | 60 min. | O.V. Portuguese subtitled in Spanish and English
An irreverent visit to Guimaräes by Gonçalo Tocha who looks at the monuments in the historic city from the perspective of those who live there. Using the commission (a group of films were produced as a result of the city being chosen European Capital of Culture 2012) in an almost subversive way, Tocha takes a humorous look at the impressive medieval heritage while, like a kite, he flies over the towers of the city, their popular legends and their significance for the inhabitant: the unbuilt second tower of the Basilica of São Pedro, the walled-up Tower of Alfándega or the mysterious technical failure in the sound recording in São Torcato.
