IMAGENERA: AWARDS FOR DOCUMENTARY CREATION CONCERNING THE MEMORY OF ANDALUSIA

Tuesday 15 de July 2014

A call to all audiovisual creators who, without creative limitations, except for that of remaining within the terrain of the documentary, wish to reflect, pay tribute to or simply evoke or look at any aspect of the collective memory of Andalusia: history, identity and culture, through real, imagined or symbolic representations. The works can be presented from 1st to 30th September, and the Seville Euuropean Film Festival will again collaborate in 2014 with IMAGENERA, including in its programming some of the films presented to the competition, along with a series of round tables after the screenings.

IMAGENERA 2014 offers a first prize of 7,000 euros and a second prize of 3,000 euros, along with the presentation in both cases of the Silver Star award and a commitment to the public screening of the winning documentaries. The period for presenting documentaries is from 1st to 30th September, inclusive. In this year’s edition, documentaries can be presented in physical format or online, following the instructions given on the competition’s website www.centrodeestudiosandaluces.es/imagenera

Any individual or legal entity can participate in the competition. Only one documentary can be presented, in any language in original version. It cannot have previously won an award in other festival or competition.

Previous editions

IMAGENERA begin in 2007. Since then and to date it has presented awards to works, stories and tales that reflect aspects of the memory of Andalusia, seen and understood in its broadest and most diverse sense, from an aesthetic or artistic perspective and approach. The competition has an international vocation, it is not limited to any period or subject matter. All this makes the competition a unique initiative in the national panorama.

The VII edition of IMAGENERA was characterized by the inauguration of a new line of collaboration with the Seville European Film Festival, to achieve a joint impetus and promotion of audiovisual creation made and produced in Andalusia or about Andalusia. A total of 30 documentaries participated, with first prize going to ‘Triana pura y dura’, directed by Ricardo Pachón and produced by La Zanfoña Producciones, and second prize going to ‘Guillena 1937’, by Mariano Agudo, produced by Intermedia Producciones.
