'LOBSTER', 'MUSTANG' AND 'RAMS', NOMINATED FOR BEST EUROPEAN FILM

The Seville Festival was the venue for the announcement of the nominations for the 28th edition of the European Film Awards. Over 3,000 members of the European Film Academy (EFA) will vote for the winners, who will be presented during the awards ceremony to be held on 12th December in Berlin.

The nominations include several production which will be seen at this 12th edition of the SEFF. In the Official Section, Lobster has received four nominations, including Best Film and Best Director for the Greek Yorgos Lanthimos. In the EFA Selection, both Mustang and Rams are also candidates for Best Film and the Polish filmmaker Małgorzata Szumowska, for Best Director; with Mia madre, the Italian Nanni Moretti is competing for Best Director and the actress Margherita Buy for Best Actress. Another excellent performance is given by the French actor Vincent Lindon in The measure of a man, which earned him a nomination for Best Actor. This film will be seen in the EFA Selection. Finally, there are four important nominations for the latest work by the Swedish director Roy Andersson which was seen at last year’s Seville Festival: A pigeon sat on a branch reflecting on existence has been nominated for Best Film, Best Comedy, Best Director and Best Script.
