The European Film Academy films

Friday 20 de October 2017

Every year Seville is the setting for the announcement of the films nominated for European Film Awards at a ceremony during the first week of the Festival. The EFA Section is made up of some of the pre-selected films.

Among those we can see in Seville is Sweden’s selection for the Oscars and the winner of the Palme d’Or at the last Cannes Festival, The Square by Ruben Östlund; the Polish film The Last Family, a first film by Matuszynski; The Constitution by Rajko Grlić; Loveless by Andrey Zvyagintsev which won the Jury award at Cannes; Happy Ending the latest film from Michael Haneke; the winner of the Sitges festival Jupiter's Moon by Kornél Mundruczó; Insyriated by Philippe Van Leeuw, one of the most acclaimed at the last Berlinale; Summer 1993 by Carla Simón, winner of the Malaga Festival and the Spanish hope for the European Film Awards and the Hollywood Academy’s Oscars and The Sacrifice of a Sacred Deer, the latest film by the always disturbing Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos.

And in December 2018, as has been announced, Seville will be the setting for the awards ceremony of the European Film Academy’s Awards.
